Digital Imaging Cameras
PETROG is integrated with the microscope by relaying the microscope image via a digital imaging camera. The live image is embedded in PETROG which can then sample and store microscope images.
A video camera image is required to allow for focusing, selecting the appropriate part of the slide and for viewing the image as the stage is rotated. PETROG supports a variety of digital video cameras.
Each digital camera manufacturer has a software kit for interfacing the camera with the computer, and a variety of physical connections. Each of these requires a different version of PETROG. Some cameras that are not integrated directly with PETROG can be interfaced through HDMI interface.
