We believe that the key to restoring petrography to its previously preeminent position at  the head of the geosciences is to facilitate  access to petrographic data for all those who may benefit from it. In an oil and gas (hydrocarbon exploration and production) context this includes:

• petrophysicists
• reservoir engineers
• exploration geologists
• regional modellers
• reservoir modellers

By default PETROG uses the open source PostgreSQL database management system (DBMS). However, drivers are available for most popular DBMS.
