PetrogLite is a simple point-counting application designed to allow control of the digital SteppingStage for a wide range of uses.

The Area of Interest on the sample can be specified, and the required number of points to count.  There are options for management of skips.  Data entry can be performed using the physical keyboard, or via customisable "virtual" keyboard layouts on a touchscreen device, if used in conjunction with the PETROG Virtual Keyboard.

PetrogLite does not perform the camera display, data analysis and reporting functions of PETROG. Unlike PETROG, it is not underpinned by a relational database management system.  PetrogLite simply logs data into spreadsheet compatible (e.g. Excel) text files.

The latest version of PetrogLite is PetrogLite v6, which is fully compatible with Windows 11 and the updated PETROG Virtual Keyboard that supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections.  Existing PetrogLite users should contact us for details on how to upgrade to the latest version and options for adding PETROG Virtual Keyboard support.
