Chip Upgrade Programme 2009
The SteppingStage control box contains a custom chip which controls the movements of the SteppingStage. In 2009 there was a revision to the software in this chip which improves the control of the stage when a large number of very small steps are executed. There is a programme underway in 2009 to contact all owners to offer the option to upgrade chip.
It is not essential to upgrade the chip, but the newer chip does improve the accuracy of repeatability of positioning.
