Data Capture

Data collection can be performed both qualitatively, through estimation, using a range of published comparator charts, and quantitatively, through point counting.

• Extensive hierarchical reference lists provide a wealth of compositional data entry options.

• Fully editable database tables allow the user to add to the provided items.

• Keyboard mapping provides efficient data entry by turning any alphanumeric keyboard into a 94 button logger.

• Comments and point coordinate logging allow the user to easily revisit logged points, even after the slide has been re-mounted.

• Textural measurements of grain size, shape and orientation can be collected by grain outline or major/minor axis definition.
